SOWING AND REAPING
SESSION 1
GALATIANS 6:6-9; 2 CORINTHIANS 9:6-14
è Biblical Uses of “Seed”
• Procreation; life (Genesis 22; Galatians 3)
• The form of plant life (Genesis 8:22)
• The Word of God (Mark 4:3-14)
• Finances, money (2 Corinthians 9:6-14; Galatians 6:6-9)
è Principles of Kingdom Finances
• 2 Corinthians 9:6: Note the context is financial giving
Harvest is determined at sowing (remember, God sees abundance proportionate to what we have, not the $ amount)
• 2 Corinthians 9:7 – our attitude at the time of sowing is valuable!
• 2 Corinthians 9:8, 9 – there is abounding financial grace (favor and ability) available
To bring sufficiency
To release abundance
To bless others; sowing is an act of righteousness
• 2 Corinthians 9:10
God supplies the seed for sowing. (What does it look like?)
God provides basic necessities
God will supply and multiply seed that has been sown
• 2 Corinthians 9:11
Enriched in everything (needed) for the purpose of re-sowing, which brings thanksgiving to God.
è “Train Wrecks” regarding the financial law of sowing and reaping in Kingdom Economics
• Not “working a system” …. Rather it’s investing in a partnership. It’s not wrong to expect a promised return. It is wrong to try to force and manipulate the promise to meet our desires and times.
• A seed has to be released to produce a return!
è Entitlement and deferring:
• Take responsibility for where I am and partner with the Lord of the harvest.
• Remove others from the position of provider.
è Act with integrity and order
è Beware of pride and fear
è TRUST HIM when your harvest seems delayed! (see Galatians 6:9)
