Almighty Father in heaven, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgressions and sins, but who will by no means clear the guilty.  We praise you for you are, indeed, worthy.  Grant us faith this morning, Lord, to trust in Christ’s blood poured out for many that we might be forgiven of our sins and bow to you in worship.  Forgive us our debts, Lord Jesus.  Help us see the gravity and burden of our sin.  For when we keep silent, when we refuse to confess our sin, our bones waste away our souls groan.  Your hand is heavy upon us.  Our strength is dried up.  We are weary and heavy laden with guilt and sorrow.  So grant us great faith this morning, Father.  Grant us repentance by the kindness of your hand that we might be blessed and filled with hope, joy and rest, for our sin can be covered and not counted against us only through Christ.  Lord, grant us your grace this morning that we might turn by faith to trust Christ who can cancel our debt and through whom we are able to stand righteous before our heavenly Father, holy and blameless.  Amen & Amen.

Sovereign Father in heaven, may your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  We confess our attempts to be govern our own lives as if we are independent and sufficient in ourselves.  We confess our constant attempts to order and maneuver our lives and those around us has proved over and over again that you are sovereign and we are not.  Lord, help us.  Father grant us your Spirit this morning that we might repent of our attempts to live out “my will be done” and by faith and because of your mercy we turn again to say with our lips and in our hearts “your will be done”.  Thank you for giving us your Word that we might know and do your will.  May your Word this morning quicken our affections, stir our longings that we might not only be prompted to do your will but that we might delight in your precious and glorious will.  And that our prayers and earnest hope will be fixed upon your will being done here on earth as it is now being fully accomplished with great joy in heaven.  We ask these eternal things of you, Sovereign Lord, because we can’t do them in our own strength.  So cause you will to be revealed this morning and accomplished in our lives as we go from here this morning.  It is in your strong and sufficient name we pray.  Amen & Amen.

Father in heaven, let your kingdom come; for yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all.  Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all.  In your right hand are power and might, and by your bidding you move all things great and small.  You give strength to all and number every creature’s days.  And we this morning desire to speak of the glory of your kingdom, for it is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations.  Thank you, LORD, for reigning sovereign.  We confess our attempts to reign, rule, move and maneuver all that is around us constantly reveals our weakness and our need to bow to King Jesus our one true King and LORD.  Convince us this morning, O LORD, of your kingdom’s influence and sway in all our personal activities and tasks as well as your sovereign dominion over all the world’s powers and leaders and wisdom.  We confess our fear and alarm when we see the world as it is.  These things cause us to doubt the authority of your kingdom and cause us to fret with uncertainty.  Grant faith and repentance this morning that we might believe with confidence that your kingdom is at hand.  For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen & Amen.

Our Father in Heaven, what is our wish?  What is our request?  What do we want you to do for us?  This is our heart’s desire and prayer in the first place: Father in heaven, let your name be hallowed, sanctified. We pray that you may be glorified as a holy God.  We desire to exalt the LORD our God, to worship at his footstool, at his holy mountain; to praise his great and awesome name, for it is holy, for the LORD our God is holy. You are holy, enthroned on the praises of your people.  We glory in your holy name (and therefore shall our hearts rejoice), because we have trusted in your holy name, to which we will always give thanks, and glory in your praise.  Lord, enable us to glorify your holy name forever, by giving thanks to you with our whole heart, and by bearing much fruit, for by this is our heavenly Father glorified.  O that we might be for God a name, a praise, and a glory, that being called out of darkness into his marvelous light to be to him a people for his own possession, we may proclaim the excellencies of him who has called us.  O that we may be your children, the work of your hands, that we may sanctify your name and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob and stand in awe of the God of Israel; and that we may be to the praise of his glory.  Enable us as we have received gifts, so to use them to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace – in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.  And if we suffer, enable us to suffer as Christians and to glorify God in that name; for this is our eager expectation and hope: that always Jesus Christ may be honored in our bodies, in life and death.  Amen & Amen.
