鯊魚之為用，臺灣在荷蘭統治時代，根據中研院出版的《臺灣日記知識庫》裡《熱遮蘭城日誌》的記載，從1646年的9月起，就有許多清國人的戎克船經常載運鯊魚、鯊魚的油脂、鯊魚翅（haygraet）等。
