In Luke 22, Jesus is headed to the cross.  He knows it...it's planned.  As he enters into the darkest part of his life and plots against him are formulating, what will he say to his disciples to sustain and strengthen their faith?  Amidst what will look like defeat, Jesus lovingly and graciously speaks forth promises of victory.  But, how can the disciples trust in these promises in the midst of such darkness and seeming defeat?  How can we trust in the promises of Jesus during our dark times?

Truly, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!  What did Jesus mean when he spoke these very blunt, honest words?  Does wealth make it truly difficult for a person to follow Jesus...or is it something deeper?  What is the core issue that stands between us and abandoning all for Jesus and what can we do about it...if anything?

At the height of his popularity, Jesus speaks some very difficult words about the cost of discipleship.  He was surrounded by crowds that loved being casually associated with him, much like many "Christians" today.  However, Jesus' invitation has never been to casual association, but to costly abandon.  Discipleship has some incredible demands...yet somehow they are also irresistible delights.
