We find out that the Clave has a ridiculously fast and corrupt legal system. Meanwhile, when Michael Wayland joins Clary, Jace, and Luke, Clary begins to suspect that she's no long the only evil mastermind in the group.

Alec discovers his Parabatai has been keeping some secrets from him, Luke shoots Simon ten times, and Clary stumbles into some fairly well-written fanfiction (but Alison and Hannah have some complaints).

Clary and Simon fight, Raphael welcomes his new fledgling, Izzy's boyfriend maybe gets murdered, Jace and Alison both cry, and Hannah is becoming a vampire.

Clary goes rogue and finds a box that looks startlingly like its movie counterpart, Simon gets kidnapped (again), and Luke declares his allegiance while Alison and Hannah cringe every time someone says alpha leader.
