Shadows Of The Past

Listen Later

This is the first of two more songs I wrote within a month of each other in 1979. Neither song became a song I sung often and would have sunk into obscurity except for the entry into my catalogues of lyrics. These songs were completed (but both quite short) but because of being seldom performed the melodies were mostly forgotten and I never even recorded the guitar chords to help me resuciate them and so were almost lost as the years past. I have used what I remembered but a lot of the melodies are new. I have recorded these rough drafts, to serve as a reminder to me and will hopefully , after some rehearsal/practice over write thess recording with something I am happier with. I might even make sure my RH finger nails have been tidied up for the picking.
This song was written in August and the whole lyric is repeated to make it a little longer. Although it still logs in at less that three minutes. It is a sung much more in my style, but somehow different. I cannot help but feel this may owe something to a song I may have heard, if you agree and recognise the melody, I would love to hear your thoughts. Again a minimum number of chords used, but they seem to be sufficient, using a little picking. The uke has been amplified again to try to bring it up in the "mix. The recording was done live, singing and playing together.
