We met an 85-year-old woman who owns a beautiful brownstone right there on Greene Avenue. She shared her story—about fighting for her home through redlining, about systemic barriers, about staying when staying was hard. And about how much she loves this community. That pride. That resilience. That’s the real story.

As the sun set, the stoops filled with people. The beats dropped—90s R&B and house music that filled our souls. Strangers became dancers. The concrete became a dance floor. This is what real community looks like. This is what real joy feels like.
