Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Neil Gorsuch issued the most wretched opinion in Supreme Court history this week. The Constitution forbids the Court to legislate from the bench. Article I declares, and I quote, “all legislative power is vested in Congress.” All means all. That leaves zero, zip, nada, zilch legislative power to the Court. But that didn’t stop Gorsuch from rewriting a 1964 civil rights law by redefining the word “sex” and granting, not equal rights, but special rights based on sexually deviant behavior. We supported Gorsuch’s nomination because he promised us he would be an originalist and would not legislate from the bench. He either lied to us or doesn’t have the character to keep his promises. Gorsuch has now enshrined sexual depravity and mental illness as fundamental civil rights. Shame on him.
