Shank Outdoors

Are Instagram giveaways really worth your time—or just a scam for companies to gain followers? In this episode of Shank Outdoors, I dive into the rise of giveaway contests on Instagram and Facebook, where users are asked to like, follow, and tag friends for a chance to win. But here’s the catch: you rarely see the winners announced, especially from big corporate accounts. I share my personal experience winning a set of Novsight LED lights, and why smaller mom-and-pop shops often feel more transparent with their giveaways. Let’s talk about whether these big brand contests are legit or just engagement bait.

If you’ve ever entered a giveaway online, this one’s for you—don’t miss it!

Some overlanding YouTube creators, like Jason from All Things Overlanding, have been getting hate from viewers — but why?

In this video, I talk about the work that goes into making outdoor adventure content, why silent supporters rarely comment or like videos, and why positive feedback matters. Whether you’re into overlanding, camping, or backcountry exploring, let’s open the conversation about supporting creators you enjoy watching.

Drop a comment, hit like, and let’s keep building a positive outdoor community!

I share the highs and lows of the tournament, from missed fish at the hole to finally landing one on the board, as well as the importance of adapting lure choices and using LiveScope for tracking fish behavior. Plus, we discuss our cold-weather camp setup, including diesel heaters that kept us warm through the frigid nights.
