Golf may be the only sport where a score can improve without a single shot getting better.

Every golfer loves the perfect days—the calm mornings, pure ball-striking, and scorecards that cooperate. But not every round is played under blue skies.

Sometimes the wind howls. The rain falls. The conditions become miserable. And somewhere around the sixth hole, we start wondering why we're still out there.

The church at Smyrna understood that feeling.

Unlike most of the seven churches in Revelation, Smyrna wasn't rebuked by Jesus. They were suffering. Facing hardship. Walking through storms they didn't choose. Yet Jesus gave them a simple challenge: remain faithful.

It was a beautiful day on the golf course. The sun was out, the round was going well, and life felt normal. Then, without warning, a golf ball came screaming out of nowhere.
