Most of us were not given the challenges that Amanda Hayden Powell faces everyday. From being active and healthy, ready to take on the world as a teacher of High School students, to being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. At first Amanda was angry with God. But soon realized He was her greatest asset. She realized that Jesus had been through so much for us, and He knew what is was like to suffer. She drew close to God recognizing that every blessing was from Him. She has realized that her pain has a greater purpose and can be an encouragement to those facing their own pain. Keep reading...

The third book in Robin Jennings trilogy, A Letter to the Church and the Next Generation: Spiritual Growth through the Witness of James, uncovers the great importance of faith-filled adults becoming spiritual mentors for our youth. Jennings lives his life inspired by the life of James to be a “doer of the Word,” and his most recent book beckons others to do the same. Jennings draws upon the wisdom of James to create a valuable personal and Biblically based resource for anyone working with young adults and the next generation of community leaders. Multigenerational mentoring is a much-needed commodity, and necessary to heal the abandonment felt by many in society. Keep reading...

Whitney Howard had read the negative postings on the internet about a local Pastor. Rather than believe the negative things being said, she decided to find out for herself if these things were true. She had not attended a church service in years when she walked through the door of HIS Church to listen to Pastor Brian Gibson. During the service, God spoke to her heart and a spiritual transformation began to take shape. After church, Whitney went home and put her faith into action. Brenda Walker retired to go to work helping others. Graced Again began in 2019 with the idea to provide individuals graduating from shelter programs with furnishings for their new home. There are basic household items that most of us have an abundance of that are priceless to those in need. Basic things such as silverware, cookware, wash cloths, towels, twin beds, and box springs. In one such case, a new mother was in need of everything for her newborn. While still in the nicu at our local hospital, volunteers were gathering baby items to surprise the mother with a nursery makeover for the newborn. Brenda has dedicated volunteers who are blessed to pick up donated gently used household furnishings such as couches, chairs, beds, tables, lamps and anything else you want to donate. Gwen Bennett says, “God always provides, just what we need to help those in our community.” What started as a small clothing closet ministry in 2014, has grown and expanded to over 6000 square feet in a building that only God could provide. Shepherd’s Hand Ministry is based off the scripture verse in Isaiah 58:10, “Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble.” Each week over 200 families are given 40-60 pounds of fresh food. In addition to supplying their food needs, they also outfit each family member with 5 clothing outfits. Each week Gwen helps out grandparents who are struggling to meet the needs of their grandchildren that they never expected to raise. Gwen stepped out on faith and God provided all the food and all the volunteers necessary to help those in trouble.
