Shapes & Sounds

On this week's episode, I sit down with Michael Berman aka Cowboy Mike. Michael is a digital artist based in Southern California. His specialty is currency design and he had some very interesting ideas about what it means to be an artist.

Happy Pride Month! For this week's episode I sat down with Omar Salas Zamora, an independent filmmaker and one of my oldest friends. Omar has written and directed dozens of shorts and several feature length films. We discussed his background and journey through the film industry, as well as his most recent project: the mini series, Here Comes Your Man.  The show follows two young men from the beginning to the end of their relationship and is loosely based on Omar's own experiences in the LGBTQ community.

This week, I rounded up some of my favorite moments on the show thus far. My original plan was to do this to mark the podcast's third month and it completely slipped my mind, so I'm doing it now. Everybody loves a clip show! ...right?

This week's episode features Jesse Dodge aka Grampa Facets, a lapidary artist based in Portland, Oregon. Jesse cuts and facets borosilicate glass, taking inspiration from natural gems and crystals. He's been gaining a lot of traction in his field and his work can be found in glass shops across the country.

This week's episode features Jess Steinfelds, a weaver and photographer based in Truckee, California. We had a wonderful conversation, but roughly half of it got cut off due a technical error during recording. This is extremely unfortunate, but it may be recoverable. Make sure to listen all the way through for more info on this, as well an important announcement.

I go solo this week and do a deep dive into what is quickly becoming a theme of the show (or at least a major interest of mine).
