Sara Macham, looks into Carers Rights Day, a day of meetings and events organised by Carers UK, to raise awareness for the 6.5 million people in the UK who look after others on a full or part time basis.

Rita Lobo, is joined by Steve Newcomb, from the indigenous law institute to discuss the current situation at the Standing Rock reservation in North Dakota. Plans to build a pipe line through the reservation have been heavily disrupted by protesters looking to protect the sacred land of the Sioux people.

The UK has just seen its second female Prime Minister and there are record number of women CEOs in business, but it seems the media's portrayal of women has a lot of catching up to do.

Little progress has been made in improving representation of women of all shapes and sizes according to a study from Dove. The study shows that three in four women and two-thirds of girls in the UK think media and advertisers set unrealistic standards of beauty while 90% of adults want to see a broader range of body shapes in advertising and the media.

Mary Glindon is the MP for Tyneside and has joined Dove in the non-profit Be Real's Body Image Pledge, which launched this week and aims at raising awareness of the issue and pressuring brands to diversify when it comes to their representation of women. She spoke to Share Radio Weekend Editor Rita Lobo, who started by asking why the media and advertising industry are so reluctant to change.

The British Indian ocean Territory Includes the small islands of Chagos- where in 1965 the british government allowed the construction of military bases for the mutual benefit of the United States and the UK, which meant forcibly evicting the island's 2,000 inhabitants. Since then Chagossians, in exile in the UK have fought for the right to return to their home country.

But it was ruled this week that Chagosians will not be allowed to return to their home in the British Indian Ocean Territory.

Foreign Office minister Baroness Anelay told MPs the government had decided against resettlement on the grounds of "feasibility, defence and security interests, and the cost to the British taxpayer".

The government also confirmed the UK would allow the US to keep its military base on the largest of the Chagos islands, Diego Garcia.

The campaign fighting for the Chagossians right to their homeland continues in the UK. Jojning me are Jenny Bertrand, who is from Chagos and is a campaigner for repatriation and Philippa Gregory, novelist and patron of the Chagos Support Association.
