  • #91: Empathy and Love in Business | Dan Pontefract
The “human whisperer” Dan Pontefract is here, talking all things empathy and how it connects to the ways we run our businesses and our lives. How does it fit into our daily lives? Author of Love-Based Leadership, Dan is driven by the question: How do love and empathy fit into our businesses? Further, what allows a business to click? What values and motivations and obstacles come together to form each organization, and how does that organization run based on each combination?
Dan shares his story of how he got to where he is today…it’s a story of the need for perseverance, a strong sense of self, and the ability to say no to what doesn’t feel right for us, even when others may not understand. It is only then that we can be the most wholesome and authentic leaders possible. Dan shares some amazing tips about leadership- what makes a good one?
How do we find the lessons at every part of our journey even when we are working our way up the ladder to what Dan calls “workplace actualization?”
This conversation got us thinking about leadership and what it requires on all levels.

  • #90: Fit Your Marketing Plan on a Single Page | Allan Dib

    SHOW NOTES

This week we are sitting down with Allan Dib, serial entrepreneur, rebellious marketer and technology expert. We're talking all things marketing strategy...how can an efficient strategy in one page or less that encapsulates every necessity for our businesses? Allan speaks on his book, The One-Page Marketing Plan, which of course is the book he wishes he had at the time he was building his business. He walks us through all the stages of his marketing process, from effectively selecting your target market to crafting the most authentic message possible. Allan clearly outlines how to create the best experience possible for our clients, using the "human-to-human" principle, no matter what your strategy is. Further, we are going beyond what many marketing strategists look past, the idea of finding the optimal customer. It can be easy, especially when our businesses are just starting off, to take any client we can get. However, if it is not a fitting relationship for our business and personal values, it will be unfulfilling at best and inauthentic at worst. Allan shares how to keep our true visions in mind regarding this topic and many others as we grow our businesses. Take a listen, you won't regret it!

  • #87: The Power of Humor and Uncompromising Entrepreneurialism | Rachael Kay Albers

It's that time of week again. Today we are sitting down with Rachael Kay Albers, a self proclaimed marketing-hating marketer. As founder of RK Ink, she has helped entrepreneurs reach their dreams without compromising themselves in the process. And as host of Awkward Marketing, a business comedy show, Rachael sheds light on how to create epic brands online. Rachael is a pro at reverse-niching...which follows the notion that we can only know who we are and what we value by knowing who we are not. What can you not see yourself doing in your day-to-day work life? What kind of environment can you not see yourself working in? Getting clear on these ideas can lead us to the right places with the right people, instead of wasting time and energy on experiences and people that do not fully serve us. We dive into these questions and more, as Rachael explains her experiences as an out-of-the-box person and marketer, sharing how her personality has shaped her career. Further than that, she shares how we can share all sides of our personalities in our field of work- our opinionated side, our playful side, our goofy side, you name it...Rachael says all of these traits have a place in our lives and work.
