Filmcast Without a Cause is on the sauce with this week's review of John Dies at the End. IN THE NEWS!! Movie theaters want shorter trailers, Henry Cavill replaces Tom Cruise in spy film, Amazon selects picks its pilots, and Grumpy cat is getting a movie. For our special segment Jacob and Pat breakdown the realm of cult films and its definition. 

First, we must apologize, for Filmcast Without a Cause is made of the same material as the sun. Second, this is no normal episode of FWOAC. Due to Memorial Day messing with our usual recording schedule, we decided to record early and mess with the formula a little. This week's show is an in-depth look at Shane Carruth's latest film Upstream Color. The first half of the show is a discussion of the theme and our reactions to it's style, the second half we spoil the plot. We would normally apologize for spoiling, but this film sort of demands it.

Maybe you've heard of this film, maybe you haven't either way we both HIGHLY RECOMMEND you stream it on Amazon before listening to this episode. 

FWOAC INTO DARNKESS with Jacob and Pat's review of Star Trek Into Darkness. In The News!!! TV upfronts gives us a look at Marvel's Agents of Shield and many more, the Amazon Zombieland series doesn't make the cut, and when Kickstarter goes wrong and oh so right. For this week's special segment, Jacob and Pat both assemble their dream science fiction Starship crew.

Filmcast Without a Cause rides the golden tide of the 1920s with a review of The Great Gatsby. In the News! Cannes line-up, Jeff Nichols reteams with Michael Shannon for a sci-fi film, and Marvel turning obscure comic into first animated feature. In our special segment we return to FIlmmaker First Frames series with a discussion of Baz Lurhman's Strictly Ballroom.

Filmcast Without a Cause puts on its armor once more with a review Iron Man 3. In The News!!! Steven Soderbergh vents his issues with the current State of Cinema, the Asian cut of Iron Man 3 is not going over so well, and Fantastic Four casting rumors. After the review we discuss the films of summer 2013 we're itching to see.

Filmcast Without a Cause goes for the Michael Bay superset reviewing Pain and Gain. IN THE NEWS!! Is it okay for Zach Braff to use Kickstarter to fund his next film? is Armie Hammer set to be a superstar? Superhero tips trickle out from Xmen: Days of Future Past and Avengers II. In our special segement we regale listeners with our deep feelings for Michael Bay and his storied career.

FWOAC fends off an alien invasion only to review Joseph Kosinki's Oblivion. In the News!! Keanu Reeves returns cast in original sci-fi flick, the Game of Tag adapted into a feature film, and Asian markets can see Iron Man 3 in "Smell-o-Vision." For our special segment, Pat and Jacob discuss Amazon's debut original pilots. And if you stay through the credits, we spoil Oblivion rotten.

In a rather fortuitous turn of events, FWOAC episode 42 finds Jacob and Pat reviewing the Jackie Robinson Biopic: 42. IN THE NEWS!! Roger Ebert has passed, original Walking Dead showrunner may be writing prequel to The Shining and MacGruber 2 may actually happen. In our special segement, what's more entertaining? Fiction or Non-Fiction in sports films.

FWOAC goes streaming with a double feature of two film festival favorites: Holy Motors and Room 237. IN THE NEWS! Lots of hollywood directors are taking to talents to the small screen.
