krishn bihari noor pays fulsome tribute to the role of zainab, husain’s sister during and after the battle of karbala. The eyes of zainab were set high (on the heavens), the footprints of zainab are at the heights of the path of truth. Whenever we take the name of husain the heart echoes with the voice of zainab i.e., zainab’s speech in yaziid’s court echoes with the same courage and defiance as husain’s sacrifice. Patience and submission to the divine will were tried to the limits, but tears remained within the limits set by acceptance of the will of god and within that suffering, great spiritual truths, jalve were revealed. These are the two supports/means of salvation – the ridaa of zahra and the ridaa of zainab. The ridaa of zahra refers to the qur’aanic verse called aaya-e tat’hiir which declares that those under the ridaa of zahra are god’s specially chosen (this was the immediate family of mohammed). krishn bihaari noor equates the importance of zainab’s ridaa with the one mentioned in the qur’aan.
