    Alisha Stanley is not someone you would suspect of having a prison record. She grew up in a loving family in Madill, Oklahoma, attended college and started a career as a teacher. So, what happened? She explains the hurt and judgements of her past, the crushing pain of losing custody of her daughter in a divorce and spiraling out of control and falling into abusing pills.

    Following her release from prison a little over a year ago, she moved into a home for women in Claremore, Oklahoma sponsored by His House Outreach Ministries. Despite the odds, she is not taking this current opportunity for granted and embracing this second chance.

As the Founder and President of the Coalition for the Betterment of Indian Education (C4BIE), she believes that advocating for Indian Education will ultimately create a better future for all children.
