This week’s episode is a continuation of where we left off from Episode 052 with Lagom Kids.
When I asked co-founder of Lagom Kids, Anna if she had any final advice at the end of the episode for you listeners, she suggested for women to ‘freeze your eggs!’.
Well that intrigued me and we had a brief chat about it after the interview and I found out a little more about her personal journey with IVF. That’s how we also talked about Linda Locke from last week’s episode. Linda was Anna’s mentor through her IVF journey.
If you’re wondering whether you should freeze your eggs, or know a loved one or friend who is considering this, or maybe you just want to learn a bit more about this topic, then I hope Anna’s honest and open sharing will give you some insight from her perspective.
I really appreciate Anna offering to share this personal experience in the hope of helping someone out there. Don’t forget to let Anna know if what she’s shared helped you in some way.
Enjoy!

This week’s podcast is an epic one!
I talked to Linda Locke, accomplished leader in the advertising industry, IVF warrior, children’s book author and great grandniece of Agnes Joaquim, the brilliant woman who created the first hybrid orchid and Singapore’s national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid in 1893.
We talked about her advancement as graphic designer to senior leadership in the tough industry of advertising, her heart wrenching and triumphant journey with IVF, how she helped to shape the history of IVF in Singapore and so much more.
Linda shares her wisdom about succeeding as a woman in a fast-paced, highly demanding industry like advertising and when she switched gears with her decision to become a mom. That decision led her right into her next role as IVF warrior and again, Linda is a trailblazer here, helping to shape Singapore’s IVF policy.
Here are the key points Linda touches on about that she thinks helped her succeed:
Linda’s tenacity and resilience is clear when you hear her talk about her career and IVF journey. You will be inspired.
This was such a wonderful conversation, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it and learn a lot in the process!

In this episode, I share the 3 phases that help me pay off debt and still live a fulfilling life.
The usual advice you hear about debt repayment is all about the things you can’t, shouldn’t, and mustn’t have, like not having frivolous indulgences in lattes, eating out, or buying something just because you like it.
You often also hear about all the must’s, should’s, have-to’s when it comes to debt, like you must throw all your available cash on paying off ALL your debt as quickly as possible, and especially attack those with high interest rates. You also must cut up all your credit cards and only use cash.
I found this kind of advice to be incomplete, so I came up with my own set of processes that has enabled me to pay off over $355k of debt without putting my life on hold. If you’re like me and have a huge debt that would take a while to pay off, you may want to reconsider the conventional advice about using all your available cash on debt repayment. It could actually backfire and leave you deeper in debt and living a small, limited life.
Listen to this episode to discover a different approach to dealing with debt.

In today’s episode, I share the 8 ways I learned to stop worrying about not having enough money. This scarcity thinking that I’d run out of money even when I was objectively earning good money used to keep me awake and caused tensions in my relationships.
When I started implementing these in my life, I realised that my thoughts are just thoughts. And since my thoughts create my reality, I could change my reality by changing my thoughts. Sometimes that’s easier said than done. We need to take action and gather the evidence to prove it to ourselves.
I go into more detail about how to do this in today’s podcast episode.

In this episode, I share how it’s not your inability to save, budget, invest or be responsible with money that’s keeping you trapped in unwanted financial situations.
It’s shame and deprivation that are driving your relationship with money.
Shame is rooted in feelings of unworthiness.
When you feel unworthy, you start depriving yourself because you feel like you don’t deserve.
Knowing the root of your shame and deprivation enables you to stop engaging in unhealthy financial behaviours like wanting to be financially successful to be respected, accepted and loved.
Listen to this episode to learn why you need to address the areas of shame and deprivation in your life if you want real freedom.

Your relationship with money is the #1 predictor of your financial success.
Money can make you feel free, abundant, at ease or powerful and money can also make you feel trapped in scarcity, fear of losing it, feel ill at ease, and powerless.
It all depends on how you relate with money.
l freedom, peace of mind and security don’t lie in accumulating more wealth alone. You can choose how you want to relate with money from now on to change the trajectory of your financial lives.
Find your reason for wanting to improve your financial situation that will bring you through the days where you really don’t feel like doing what it takes to develop a healthier relationship with money.
Until we take an honest look at the real nature of our relationship with money, we’ll continue to be stuck in patterns of behaviour and circumstances in our financial lives that we don’t want to be in.
You need to understand your relationship with money from a psychological, emotional, mental, spiritual and physical perspective. Our relationship with money and therefore our financial success doesn’t only involve the mental and logical side of budgeting, investing or making a financial plan. It involves taking care of yourself as an entire human being and that’s why we need to look at you as a person holistically, not just from one logical dimension.
Listen to this episode to learn more about what having a relationship with money means!
If you’re interested to learn more about yourself and your relationship with money, I’d like to invite you to join my program, Mindfulness In Money. When I embarked on my journey to find out how I could live a financially free life where I could break free from the tyranny of being worried and stressed out about not having enough money for the lifestyle I wanted for me and our kids, I never thought I'd find it in MINDFULNESS.
As I delved deeper into mindfulness, I discovered that practising mindfulness is exactly the thing that brought the peace of mind, confidence and a sense of abundance and gratitude about money that I was searching for. It wasn’t making more money that did it for me. It was through mindfulness that I found the security and reassurance I'd always been looking for externally - be that in other people, my education and qualifications or my job.
The practice of mindfulness has helped me to stop stressing about money and still enjoy life, even while paying off our 6-figure business debt, even through having my income reduced because of the pandemic, and living with the uncertainties of corporate life during a period of mergers and acquisitions.
Listen to this episode to learn how mindfulness can help you stress less over your money and financial life.

This week’s episode is a fun one with Anna & Toni who run Lagom Kids, the first homegrown kids retail and activity brand to use comfort, exploration and experience to inspire play to learn and discover this beautiful world of ours.
Lagom is a Swedish word that means “just right” and Anna & Toni share how they are using the theme of Goldilocks & The Three Bears to bring children on a journey of self-discovery and growth with the idea of "not too little and not too much" by seeking out what is "just right" for them. This is how our kids will experience and live a life of happiness.
Toni and Anna from Lagom Kids may have grown up worlds apart, but they shared the same free spirit of adventure, exploration, and self-discovery as young girls. They bring their passion and collective life experience as individuals, wives and mothers with their own families to inspire play, stories and confidence to a new generation of children.
I loved this conversation with Anna & Toni because we talked about not just how they came to start, run, grow and evolve their business but also:
This is a must-listen for all you women & moms. And check out the following resources mentioned on the show.

This week’s guest is Gretta Scholten, a certified life and time management coach. She helps women overcome overwhelm, procrastination, analysis paralysis so they can create habits and routines they love and feel productive and fulfilled every single day.
What I love about Gretta and her story is her resilience and tenacity around money which comes through so clearly when you talk to her. As a breadwinner and dealing with moments of having a negative account balance, Gretta shares how even despite such challenging times, she’s been able to coach herself and adopt the mindset necessary to create money in her life.
I found Gretta’s grounded energy to be very calming and reassuring. I’m impressed by Gretta’s rapid transition from Occupational Therapist to Life & Time Management Coach and how she’s managed to deal with the financial pressure on a new business in such a calm, rational and spiritual way.
Gretta shares so much valuable insights about:
A big thank you to Samantha Siffring @samanthahms as well for the introduction to Gretta. I connected with Gretta through Samantha’s podcast and coaching program - both which I highly recommend!
