Publisher's Summary:
Sharpe also has friends, notably a captain of the Royal Navy who is hunting the Revenant and who rescues Sharpe when all seems lost. The hunt turns into a stern chase as the French warship races home, carrying a treaty that could ignite India into a new war against the British. Yet when the Revenant encounters the combined French and Spanish fleet of Cadiz, it seems that Sharpe's enemies have found safety, even as his enemies on board seem to have him trapped.
Yet over the horizon is another fleet, led by Nelson, and Sharpe's revenge will come in a savage climax when the two armadas meet on a calm October day off Cape Trafalgar.
Sharpe's Trafalgar introduces Richard Sharpe to the horrors of a battle at sea, and finds him at his most ruthless as he struggles not just for revenge, but for the woman he loves.

Critic Reviews:
"Cornwell's combination of breakneck action and pig-headed men behaving badly, but with dazzling brio, is just unbeatable." (The Daily Telegraph)

Ludicrous story, fine narration
I'm a 62 year old guy, so please bear with me when I say I've always loved naval stories of the Napoleonic Wars. I was brought up on Hornblower. I thought Cornwell would be almost as cool. Big disappointment. The story of a young officer who gained a battlefield commission, saved the life of a Navy captain and seduced an aristocratic lady on board (under the nose of her old husband) is preposterous. Perhaps it appeals to Disneyland sensibilities of the 1950s. The one good part of the story is the battle of Trafalgar. Nonetheless, Paul McGann does a magnificent job of narrating. So, if you're willing to suspend disbelief and listen to a fast moving story, you might like this book. But keep away if your standards are modelled on Hornblower novels.
A great read and everything you expect from a Bernard Cornwell adventure.
Now finished number four in the Sharpe series and number five already loaded ready to go.
Having read or listened to many of Bernard Cornwell's books this is yet another in the same vein.........that's not meant as any criticism but appreciation for his style of writing. Not all fast paced action but still plenty of it, loads of historical details, a great fictional story line blended with factual events.
Richard Sharpe continues his adventures and instead of just jumping from India to England, makes a long sea voyage a thrilling chase ending with the predictable battle.
A very different story in this series of books than those fans of the TV series would know but the original story is so much better. The characters from the TV series were so well cast as they instantly spring to mind as the narrator takes you into Sharpe's world.
A great listen.
Great
It's a great listen a strong bold storyline with plenty of imagery going of in your head it just makes me buy the next one going from land battles on India to sea battles to trafalgar brilliant
Would be better unabridged
Unfortunately Audible now only seem to sell the abridged versions of the book. The unabridged version would have been so much better - as with all of the fantastic set of these popular novels.
