September 04, 2017Shatter The Vain 171: Now With Mouse & Keyboard IntegrationThis is episode one hundred and seventy one of Shatter The Vain. I’m Brad Chmielewski and this is a podcast all about the mobile MOBA Vainglory created by Super Evil Megacorp. This week we’re all getting hyped for update 2.8 that will be dropping very soon. On this episode we don’t go much into the changes happening in update 2.8 since we recorded his before all that juicy news was revealed. Don’t worry I’ll be back next week to rundown all those changes and talk about the live championships. Instead AWKN and I talk about some of the general MOBA news that has been happening and a few of the big Vainglory topics of the last couple weeks. AWKN was previously on episode 103 of the podcast, but a lot has changed with him and his stream over those few months. Hopefully, you enjoy this off-topic chat and as always thanks for watching / listening. If you’re typically an audio listener to the podcast, be sure to check out the video version on the Shatter The Vain YouTube channel. I’ve also had a few requests on ways to support the podcast and the best option is on Patreon. I’d love the opportunity to do more episodes like this in the future along with the usual episodes you’ve come to love. If you aren’t able to be a Patreon backer of the show right now, no problem and thanks for listening. Having issues listening to the audio? September 01, 2017Shatter The Vain Minisode: Video Game Podcasting With Sam HanWelcome to another minisode of Shatter The Vain, these are a sort of “Brawl Mode” episode where we’ll focus on one topic that may not always be Vainglory related but will tie-in somehow. On this minisode, I’m joined by a fellow podcaster, Sam Han AKA JustCasual. Sam often has his hand in other games but League of Legends is his main MOBA he plays. Sam also has a handful of other podcasts that he does all within the video game space. Podcasting for video games can often be tricky since the audience tends to skew younger than your normal podcast listener. Sam and I chat about those struggles and how you can cast a wider net to get more listeners for your show. Having issues listening to the audio? August 28, 2017Shatter The Vain 170: Damn It Feels Good To Be A GankStarThis is episode one hundred and seventy of Shatter The Vain. I’m Brad Chmielewski and this is a podcast all about the mobile MOBA Vainglory created by Super Evil Megacorp. This week I have a little bit of a different episode for everyone. We’re going to skip the general Vainglory news this week and dive into what GankStars have been doing. The last few weeks GankStars have been making a lot of noise on twitter with their recent spot in the Vainglory franchise system as well as getting accepted into an accelerator. That is just on the organization front, the players have been crushing it too in C-OPS, Paladins and H1Z1. Joining me to talk about everything they have been up to is PwntByUkrainian and SuiJeneris. If you’re looking for all the Vainglory news, stay tuned and be sure to subscribe. On episode 171 AWKN joins me to run down it all as we get ready for update 2.8. If you’re typically an audio listener to the podcast, be sure to check out the video version on the Shatter The Vain YouTube channel. I’ve also had a few requests on ways to support the podcast and the best option is on Patreon. August 25, 2017Shatter The Vain Minisode: Getting Into Another MOBA With Sam HanWelcome to another minisode of Shatter The Vain, these are a sort of “Brawl Mode” episode where we’ll focus on one topic that may not always be Vainglory related but will tie-in somehow. On this minisode, I’m joined by a fellow podcaster, Sam Han AKA JustCasual. Sam often has his hand in other games but League of Legends is his main MOBA he plays. I wanted to see what draws him into League Of Legends and if he could see himself investing the time to get into a new MOBA at this point. Having issues listening to the audio? August 21, 2017Shatter The Vain 169: More Time With RogueThis is episode one hundred and sixty-nine or of Shatter The Vain. I’m Brad Chmielewski and this is a podcast all about the mobile MOBA Vainglory created by Super Evil Megacorp. This week I have Adren joining me once again. Adren was on episode 141 awhile back right as Rogue was just entering the Vainglory scene. A lot has changed for Rogue since that previous episode and it’s great to catch back up with Adren and see how things are going and what it looks like for the team going into the Fall season of the Vainglory8. Along with the happenings of Rogue we also chat about update 2.7 and the recent interview Ciderhelm released with PlayoffBeard. All that and more on this weeks episode of Shatter The Vain. If you’re typically an audio listener to the podcast, be sure to check out the video version on the Shatter The Vain YouTube channel. August 18, 2017Shatter The Vain Minisode: Heroes Of The Storm Battlegrounds With Jake WilliamsWelcome to another minisode of Shatter The Vain, these are a sort of “Brawl Mode” episode where we’ll focus on one topic that may not always be Vainglory related but will tie in somehow. On this minisode, I’m joined by a good friend and co-worker Jake Williams to talk about Heroes of The Storm. Heroes of The Storm has done an amazing job re-thinking what the standard 5v5 map looks like and I wanted to get Jakes thought on this. As Super Evil Megacorp is looking to expand in 5v5 I know something we are all wondering is what the map might look like. The best way to get an idea of how SEMC might handle their upcoming map is to look at some of the other moba’s on the market. Having issues listening to the audio? August 14, 2017Shatter The Vain 168: The Competitive SceneThis is episode one hundred and sixty-eight or of Shatter The Vain. I’m Brad Chmielewski and this is a podcast all about the mobile MOBA Vainglory created by Super Evil Megacorp. This week I have BrutalTurtle joining me to talk Vainglory, the competitive side and casual side. The two of us dive into his time playing for GankStars and now his new role as the analyst for EchoFox. The competitive esports space requires a lot of different moving parts and being a player is just one of them, it’s often easy to forget as those are the ones you see out on the stage and in front of the camera. We also dive into the changes from update 2.7 and how Reza is making an impact on The Halcyon Fold. It was a big week of Vainglory news and BrutalTurtle and I likely could have talked for hours, so I hope you enjoy this weeks episode. On this first minisode, I’m joined by Rumblysuperset to talk about Arena of Valor and all the other mobile moba’s he’s been playing. The two of us talk about what made him make the switch to start creating content for these other games and what Super Evil Megacorp could learn as we get ready for 5v5 mode coming soon. I’m Brad Chmielewski and this is a podcast all about the mobile MOBA Vainglory created by Super Evil Megacorp. This week I have ZacSteps joining me to talk Vainglory and truthfully, I think the two of us could have just talked for a couple hours about the game if we didn’t have topics to hits. On this weeks podcast we chat about 5v5, the lack of new hero news, ESL Brawlers and GankStars Vainglory Franchise Spot. We also make a plea for Super Evil Megacorp to bring back the question mark ping. Shatter The Vain Show Notes - http://tinyurl.com/ShatterTheVain167 All that and more on this weeks episode. I’m Brad Chmielewski and this is a podcast all about the mobile MOBA Vainglory created by Super Evil Megacorp. This weeks episode is going out a little later than normal, I’ve been traveling and hanging out in the Pacific Northwest for the last week or so. While I was here I had the opportunity to attend the Halcyon Gathering called “Shatter The Gathering” put on by the Pacific Northwest Vainglory Group. While at the event I was able to chat with a couple people about the community and what’s it’s like to see all these players coming out for a mobile game. All that and more on this weeks episode.
