Shattering Stigma, Standing as a Voice For Compassion with: Jonathan Niziol

you must exhibit once life’s adversities descend upon you. Will you have the vision necessary to persevere
through turbulent times? Will you receive permission to climb the mountain of redemption.

To provide some human context to our discussion I want to share
the inspirational story of Jonathan
Niziol.
At 41 years old, Jonathan is ready to shed
light on global issues affecting men and share his unique life story for a
greater purpose. After a idyllic childhood on a Canadian farm, his world turned
upside down when his mother passed away tragically on his 21st birthday. What
should have been a flourishing career as a lacrosse player spiraled into years
of alcohol addiction, culminating in a near-death hospital stay at age 25. This
wake-up call prompted him to rebuild his physical and mental health and find ways
to cope with his mother's loss.
Motivated by his mother's modeling legacy, Jonathan embarked on a
modeling career while battling his own demons. Perfectionism led him to body
dysmorphia and a serious eating disorder. He also faced a traumatic sexual
assault, the loss of friends, and crippling depression and anxiety, leading to
drug addiction as a coping mechanism. In 2017, he sought therapy, breaking free
from his addictions after 15 years.
Today, Jonathan is a successful international model with previous and
representation in 8 states and various countries from South Africa to the UK,
shooting for global brands such as Men's Health Editorial, Hugo Boss and Jockey
Underwear. Additionally he is a fitness role model, real estate investor, and a
supportive friend. He aims to share his personal struggles, offering tools and
strength for others to overcome their own battles. His journey is a beacon of
hope, showcasing resilience and transformation against all odds. He joined me this week to tell me more.
