I finally got the Brothers from Socially Thotful & the Average Joe Network on the mic. I had the opportunity to get the views of Parenthood from Men perspectives & advice on raising my children especially my son. They are one of the reasons why I don’t let the media alter my thoughts on Father’s presence. They’re there, they matter & most importantly, they are needed.

They called me Nicole.

It wasn’t until my mother died that I found out my real name.

But it didn’t matter Nicole was me now.

She was the strong one.

At 8yrs old she was ripped her innocence to quench a pedophile’s thirst.

& with her little legs she kicked, scratch, & squirmed.

She yelled out knowing no one would come.

The fight only turned him on.

So Nicole had to be the strong one.

Nicole got good grades while Tangela was the beast.

But when the real monster reared his face did Tangela become the weak.

So Nicole stayed in the paint until the abuse was done.

Nicole never asked for Tangela’s strength she knew

It was act of self defense.

The real enemy was blood but the world had to feel her wrath.

Nicole carried the pain, the dreams, the sexual abuse so Tangela could survive the day.

I grew up fighting with my siblings, spewing out mean hateful things that probably affects them to this day. & for a long time their insults did too. So now that I’m older I see it in my niece and nephews & try to encourage them to be gracious in their words even in their anger. But what I got from this episode was even with their fights they love each other & will get thru this phase together & be just as close as I am with my siblings.
