It's officially Holy Week and the churches are still closed. Did you ever think you'd live to see the day? While our participation in this week's liturgies may look different than normal, we are still invited on the journey through the Lord's passion to His resurrection. Holy Week is the time our Lenten preparations bring us to the fulfillment of God's steadfast and faithful love. Is your heart ready? "Where is God?" Maybe you've asked yourself this a time or two over the past few weeks as the Coronavirus leaves many of us feeling fearful, anxious and disappointed. In today's episode I am offering a new perspective on where to find God during this time of self quarantine and social distancing.  Ladies and gentlemen, we are being invited into new life, right now, in 2020. Are you ready for it?

This week's challenge: Be vigilant in searching for God. And when you find Him, soak in His beauty.

Stop and ask yourself, "Am I free?" The reality is most of us aren't. We use a variety of things to fill the void of our hearts: alcohol, drugs, porn, masturbation, social media...the list goes on. Addiction can be anything we use as an escape from the root of our problems. It brings about feelings of shame, guilt and isolation, making it difficult to talk about with others. So in this episode, I'm asking the difficult questions. I brought along 8th year FOCUS missionary, Tori Vissat, for today's conversation. Tori shares her own story of overcoming addiction, while discussing warning signs, our culture's greatest danger, and resources we can turn to when we're struggling.

After your boyfriend breaks your heart or your family member passes away, you're not crazy to question the purpose in the pain. But suffering has the potential to draw us closer to our Lord and bring others together. We're discussing how we welcome others into our suffering without feeling like a burden, and most importantly, the truth that there is no resurrection without the crucifixion. When we make plans and they don't work out, it's tough to trust that God has something better. However, He has given us crazy wild dreams and wants to see us pursue them while trusting He will provide in abundance. Throughout college I dreaded the question "What do you want to do with your life?" because it wasn't easy for me to package my dreams and passions into a single job. When I was tempted to believe my only option was to settle, Jesus would remind me that He had something better. My patience paid off and with the help of St. Jospeh I was able to land my dream job! Today I'm letting you in on this exciting new adventure and sharing how you too can land your dream job or internship. All my single ladies put your hands in the air!! Now keep them raised and look beside you. You are not alone in your ache for a relationship and marriage. But it is time to shift our perspectives from viewing singleness as a burden to seeing it as a gift. With Valentine's Day right around the corner it seemed like the perfect time to not only chat about fun ways to celebrate if you're single, but also dig deep into the reality that marriage isn't the end goal, Heaven is.
