For the final episode of the journey through 40 years of EWMD history, we are once again live from Madrid! Simone had the chance of talking to two members of the turkish chapter of EWMD: Tanju Cepheli and Sema Benlier.
Tanju starts the episode off by sharing some insights into her more than ten year EWMD journey. During her time at EWMD she got to share some of her turkish culture and heritage with other EWMD members by organizing a learning journey to turkey as well as the international congress. Tanju values the vivid exchange of ideas, inspiration and support amongst the EWMD women which makes it feel more like a family rather than just a network. For EWMD she wishes to become even more international - to reach more women across the globe and become even more powerful for the overall cause!
Sema is a HR professional and consultant and joined EWMD in 2022 after a friend recommended the network to her. Right from the start, she noticed that at EWMD, the women really want to make a difference for women in business rather than just being a network. This impressed and excited her to join and also work hand in hand with others to benefit women in management. For the future of EWMD, she wishes for a more diverse network to include more perspectives and gain even more force to change the world for the better. For everyone.
We are live from Madrid!
In addition to the almost 40 stories Simone & Ariane collected in anticipation of the 40th year Anniversary of EWMD in Madrid, Simone had the unique opportunity to interview two of the founding mothers of EWMD. Together with Val Hammond and Elisabeth Michel, Simone explores the beginnings of EWMD, the reasons behind the initial idea to found a network dedicated to women in management, their highlights of 40 years EWMD and lastly, their wish for the future. Both agree, that the unity, diversity and the strong voice that comes with this is the core value of EWMD. While both share many highlights of their EWMD journeys, their message for the future is clear: While we made a lot of progress, there is still lots to be done. EWMD and its members should continue to fight for the bigger picture of female empowerment and not lose sight of what is yet to be accomplished while celebrating everything we achieved so far.
Tune in for a very special episode with unique insights into the early days of EWMD, the underlying DNA and two remarkable Founding Mothers!
We are back, back, back again with the english edition of "She did it". For the final episode (or is it? ;-) ), Ariane is joined by Yasemin Ilhan and Anke Rohfleisch to talk about what makes EWMD so special for them.
Yasemin kicks the episode off by sharing insights from Turkey and why it might just be a little bit more important that we support women in leadership positions in Turkey. And EWMD Turkey is thriving - also thanks to Yasemin who pulled out all the stops to keep this chapter alive. While doing so, Yasemin got to experience one of the core values of EWMD: unconditional support. Whether on an individual level or from an organizational perspective. She talks about all the help and support she received from EWMD international to keep on fighting for the turkish chapter and why she cherished this so much.
Supporting each other is also something which Anke experience many times during her time at EWMD. Especially when she first became treasurer of EWMD. During that time, she also experience something else: While being demanding and stressful at times, actively participating at EWMD is overall a lot of fun. The women of EWMD love to laugh together and have fun while working for more visibility for women in leadership. Moreover, Anke really values the inspiring insights she got to collect from EWMD events, keynotes or learning journeys and the ability to meet best in class speakers or experts.
After nearly 40 stories, one thing becomes obvious: EWMD is not like any other women's network. Because EWMD is just as diverse, inspiring, powerful and independent as it's wonderful members. Joint by a mission to fight for more visibility and more women in leadership as well as compassion, empathy and support for each other.
We are back with the english edition of the "She did it - 40 years, 40 stories" Podcast! This time, Ariane has the pleasure of talking with three marvelous guests: Nadine Nembach, Pia Kroon and Tanuja Prasad join her and share their fascinating stories about what makes EWMD so special for them.
Ariane kicks the episode off with Tanuja Prasad. Tanuja lives in New York and stumbled on EWMD by accident. After reading an article, she decided to join the EWMD annual conference in 2009 which took place in Brussels. Everybody was welcoming and she felt right at home. But, what struck her most is the uniqueness. The uniqueness of the women involved. Of the organization itself. And of the broad variety of topics discussed.
Next up is Pia Kroon. Pia's EWMD journey started in 2020, right before the pandemic. She joined the Milan chapter and almost immediately found her tribe. For Pia, the thing she values most about EWMD, is the diversity of backgrounds, industries, stories, topics and overall fascinating women. Since then, she strives to make a difference and continuing to create a better future. Also for her two wonderful daughters.
Last but not least, Nadine Nembach shares her perspective on EWMD. Just like Tanuja, Nadine basically got to EWMD by accident. After meeting another member at a fair in 2017, she attended the annual conference and immediately felt at home. She also experienced openness, diversity and open-mindedness right from the start. And for Nadine this is the perfect pre-requisite for having fun while making a real impact. Through EWMD her life changed a lot and even though there is always more to do and more to change, Nadine has already made quite an impact advocating for EWMD and change for women in Brussels.
Time for a premiere: As part of the celebratory season for the 40th Anniversary of EWMD, we are hosting the 2nd every english episode of "She did it".

By doing so, we will collect 40 unique EWMD stories right in time for the big 40 year celebration in October of 24.
This episode is hosted by Ariane and she welcomes four wonderful guests from Italy and Spain: Beatrice Lusetti, Adriana Albini, Mayte Valverde Elices and Mihaela Chelaru.
In 40 Jahren kommt eben so einiges zusammen. Das wird auch dieses Mal wieder deutlich.
