This episode closes out Season 1 of She Grew Anyway.
When this podcast began, Alicia set out to share her healing journey. The conversations started with acknowledging hurt, naming emotions that had been ignored, and learning how to take things to God before processing them everywhere else.
Along the way, the conversations moved into forgiveness, detachment without bitterness, emotional reactions, and recognizing triggers.
Triggers reveal what still needs attention. They can cause quick reactions, defensiveness, or moments that feel bigger than the situation itself. When those reactions go unchecked, past pain can quietly influence present decisions.
In this episode, Alicia reflects on what she has learned through her own healing journey and shares how awareness creates an opportunity to respond differently.
The shift happens when you pause, invite God into the moment, and allow His direction to lead your response.
Season one focused on awareness.
Season two will move deeper into healing with God.
Scripture
Isaiah 30:15
“In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength.”
Strength is not found in reacting quickly. Strength grows in the quiet space where we pause and allow God to guide our response.
Growth Assignment
The next time you feel triggered, pause and ask yourself three questions:
• What am I feeling right now?
• What does this remind me of?
• God, how do You want me to respond?
Write it down if needed. Bringing awareness to the moment helps interrupt old patterns and creates space for a different response.
Remember, sis, you can grow anyway.
