Lusciously dark My friend Adam and I caught Creux Lies live, and really loved the lead singer’s gym shorts outfit.   Doesn’t matter, his vocals are luscious and dreamy perfection. All three bands are incredible vocalists, in a deeply melodic style of goth pop.

26:41-31:13 FABRICANT (Berkeley) Borderland Vigil — Let’s all marry prog.  Fabricant's debut album included technical prowess in extremely strange and wonderful structures, but completely comprehensible. Still for the nerds.

31:47-37:10 WEALD AND WOE (ID) Fire, Steel and Flesh — Build up from organic instrumentals to ferocious whirlpools of hypnotic guitar and a cold, high-pitched vocalist in a melodic black metal.

37:43-45:27 ALKALOID (Germany) Qliphosis — Opeth and Tool in the 70s built a time machine to a hundred years in the future.

46:01-50:58 EAVE (CT) Chance is a Spectre — Connecticut vivid, romantic black metal with vocals that amplify the emotional intensity.  

51:50-END TOMB MOLD (Toronto) Will of Whispers — Thrash, prog and melodic death with guitars that harmonize into earworm.  An epic production for a celebratory worshipful death.  It deserves all the hype.
