She’s mom to GRAMMY award-winning artist Francesca Battistelli and Mimi to her 6 children. Kate experienced infertility, miscarriage, an abortion at 18, and four failed adoption attempts, which all wreaked havoc on her life. As a young actress in New York City, Kate had a life-changing experience, going from understudy to starring as Anna in the Broadway National Tour of The King and I opposite Yul Brynner for more than 1,000 performances. Kate and her husband laid down their careers in the Broadway theatre in answer to their first “God Dare”, moving out of New York City and into a life of homeschooling and a home business. She’s been married to her husband Mike for 38 years and blogs about food and faith at www.KateBattistelli.com

But in her new book, What If It’s Wonderful?: An Invitation to Release Your Fears, Choose Joy, and Find the Courage to Celebrate (Thomas Nelson, March 8, 2022), Nicole shares how she chose to pursue a life of anticipation and invites readers to join her on the quest to release fear that hinders delight and savor the joy of our present life.

“I was sure that celebration always came with a catch, so I became practiced in praying for the miracle while preparing to mourn,” writes Zasowski. “I realized that much of the loss I had experienced in my life was not only the grief and disappointment itself, but also the joy I overlooked because I was too afraid to embrace it...I also wondered about the purpose of celebration in our lives. Without knowing it, I began to liken celebration to dessert: enjoyable yes, but indulgent and unnecessary to the Christian life.”

“The table is important,” writes Turner. “God, in His infinite wisdom, designed the table to be a safe place where the human soul receives healing from past events, forgiveness from past actions, and a deep-seated love that only comes from the presence of God.”

As a young professional, Abby found herself working long hours and living alone, with little time for community or friendships. Following her mother’s advice, she invited friends into her home and hosted her first dinner party at the age of 24. After four years of learning her way around the kitchen while cooking for her friends, she launched her blog, Pinterest and Instagram pages to encourage people who were stuck in a rut, didn’t know how to meet others, and were starving for community. Drawn to the table, Abby hopes that her recipes will inspire others to build their tribe and experience the presence of God, one meal at a time.
