Sarafina El-Badry Nance is an astrophysicist, science communicator, and advocate. As a Ph.D. student at the University of California, Berkeley, her research focuses on supernovae and cosmology. Nance is renowned for her use of social media, where she discusses astrophysics, activism, and promotes women's health. Her advocacy work stems from being a BRCA2+ breast cancer previvor, leading her to emphasize the importance of genetic testing and preventative medicine. Nance is an author, with a children's book published and a memoir set for release. She made her debut in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition, aiming to inspire women to pursue their dreams and defy stereotypes. Overall, Nance's impressive accomplishments and dedication to science make her a prominent figure in the astrophysics community and an influential voice for women in STEM.
