Bio:
Althea D. Williams is a retired Army Veteran, a wife, mother, grandmother, located in Dallas, Texas. She has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Studies and a MBA.
Her continous interest in community work led her to work for a prominent Latino Think Tank out of the University of Southern California. But her interest in community didn’t just stem from school, it was innate coming from a long family lineage of community leaders, military veterans and successful entrepreneurs. She later accepted a position as executive director of a chamber of commerce when she was working at the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in California.
In 2010, during the recession she was laid off, so she picked back up her part time hobby working in TV/Film as a regular US Marshall on Chase (ABC), Good Guys (NBC) and then joined the military after working on the set of the film Battleship, which Rihanna was featured. She later joined United States Army and served her country as an Aviation Operations Specialist.
Her service included a nine-month tour in Afghanistan but after losing a battle buddy in AIT, several aircrafts of battle buddies, suffering with PTSD and surviving a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) from a near fatal accident, it was time to change careers. While still working on her recovery, she resumed where she left off in community work but for women veterans. She is now the founder of a virtual group called “She VETS It” on Clubhouse founded in 2017.
