Penny's bio: Penny has her doctorate in Education Administration from the University of South Dakota. She has spent close to three decades in the field of education where she often finds herself mentoring others and pushing a growth mindset culture. Dr. Penny presently supervises three departments (Education, Staff Development and Training, and Core Correctional Practices) for the ND Department of Corrections She is presently using the Mental Management System to improve the ND DOCR employee's ability to increase rehabilitative practices of at risk learners along with leadership within the agency to build the ND DOCR bench. Today's challenges require that leaders have higher levels of attention, process and self-image available only through the Mental Management Systems. Dr. Penny has always gravitated toward at risk youth and is presently approved to offer the Mental Management System within the ND Education system for graduation credit at the ND Youth Correctional Center.

She coaches for North Central Elite Archers and Form First Archery to develop elite youth archers along with private training upon request.

Emmie bio: Emmie Perkins was born and raised in Hattiesburg, MS. Emmie is the daughter of David and Lori Perkins. She has one younger sister, Sadie. She is an alumnus of Oak Grove High School and a graduate of Mississippi State University where she studied Public Relations with a minor in Music.

Emmie was actively involved at Mississippi State. In her free time, she volunteered with the ACCESS special needs program as a mentor. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority where she served as a Gamma Chi for sorority recruitment. Emmie was a Road Runner campus tour guide and was a part of the Student Association at Mississippi State where she served as the Homecoming and Pageant Co-Director for the years 2020-2021. She had the honor of being selected to represent the freshman class on the homecoming court in 2019.

In the 4th grade, Emmie discovered her love for music after auditioning for and performing in a local production of "Annie" the musical. From then on, music has been a part of every day of her life. All throughout middle school and high school, Emmie studied voice under a professor at the University of Southern Mississippi and was heavily involved in the arts at both her school and in her community. Music ended up taking her to New York City on many different occasions where she competed in Broadway Kid Star and was named a top finalist. She trained at multiple theater workshops in the city, including Open Jar Institute and the Broadway Workshop.

Emmie was the 2019 Lamar County's Distinguished Young Woman. She placed first alternate to Mississippi's Distinguished Young Woman for 2019. Emmie has served the state as Miss Hattiesburg (2019/2020) and Miss Mississippi State University (2021).

Emmie recently served as Miss Mississippi 2022, where she spread the message of her program "Music is Medicine" across the state to all 82 counties traveling over 60,000 miles! At Miss America, Emmie won a 10,000-dollar scholarship called the Jean Bartel Social Impact Award for her efforts with her platform.

Emmie recently accepted a full time position as the coordinator of external relations for the Bullldog Initiative, a collective supporting NIL rights for student athletes at Mississippi State University.

In her free time, Emmie enjoys cooking Lebanese food, collecting vinyl records, and practicing for her family's future appearance on Family Feud.

She is also a published author, and wrote a how-to training book, along with numerous articles for multiple industry related publications. Her proudest accomplishment remains winning the title of Overall World Champion, becoming the first woman to best her male competitors. She did this riding Justin, a former trail horse that she nurtured from scratch, building him into a phenomenal equine athlete. Since then, Kenda won the Overall World title three more times on both Justin and her mare Sparky. She has also taken the Overall National Champion title six times on both horses combined. Kenda's business is based in Arizona, which allows her to offer training year-round.

Kenda is a powerhouse competitor with a great grasp of mental control. She competes in a sport where you are racing on horseback and shooting at the same time. She competes with the men too so we talk about what it takes to win in this environment.

She has won the world overall title 5 times in her sport making her the best at what she does and it was an honor to spend some time with her! She shares some of her advice for others who want to compete at high levels.
