Weaners have long been a problematic cohort of animals for sheep producers to manage. Many years of research have been conducted to improve performance and productivity of the youngest animals in the Australian sheep flock. Consequently optimising their weaner management is high on the priority list for woolgrower.

In this episode of It's Time For Ewe Fiona Macarthur is joined by Geoff Bilney who has recently built a new shearing shed on his property in Western Australian based on finding from the Australian Wool Innovation Shed Consultation and Design Project. Geoff and his wife Linda live on Broom Farm at Kojonup, 272 kilometres south east of Perth. Geoff is a third generation farmer and Linda is the daughter of a retired livestock buyer. Together they own and lease 3,000 hectares of land operating a mixed farming enterprise of grain, sheep and a lamb finishing feedlot. They've had many improvements on farm to provide a safer and more efficient working environment for everyone.
