the Owls went down 3-0 against Leeds United who showed the gulf in class but the owls really gave it a go and had their chances, but whilst money can't buy you love they say it can buy you defenders that can defend and strikers that can score, so here we are.

The Owls came up short against regular opponents, Coventry. Drawing at full time it went to penalties but we were denied 4-3. Oh, well, there's always the league.

Great win and great goals but we didn't make it easy

Here's a brief summary of the Sheffield Wednesday vs. Derby County match played yesterday:

Sheffield Wednesday secured a 4-2 victory over Derby County at Hillsborough. Barry Bannan opened the scoring early in the game, followed by Josh Windass' stunning goal from inside his own half. Djeidi Gassama and Anthony Musaba added to the scoreline, making it 4-0. Derby County managed to pull two goals back through Jerry Yates and Ebou Adams, but it wasn't enough to change the outcome.

Windass' incredible goal was the highlight of the match, and Sheffield Wednesday's performance showcased both their attacking prowess and some defensive vulnerabilities.

What can you say. We hoped for a fine end to a good year but it wasn't to be
