“Shelter medicine is a lot of surgery. Which is also why I was like, yeah, I could definitely do shelter medicine, because, it’s everything. It’s just like the melting pot of the vet med field I feel like.”

Our guest today is Dr. Rachael Wooten. After graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Tuskegee University, Dr. Wooten pursued a shelter medicine internship at the University of Illinois. From here, she’s worked at several different types of shelters and shares what she loves and learns from all those experiences.
