Sermon: Dead to Sin Alive in Christ

As we begin a New Year we begin to realize that the Child born in Bethlehem is not still there, but He comes to live with us and bless us each and every day! He is here to fill us with His grace and love.

The gifts are around the tree and they are ready to be shared with family and friends! But the greatest gift to be shared this Christmas is the gift of the King of kings and Lord of lords, Jesus Christ. His coming brings the miracle of God’s love to each of us!

This is such a holy night. In a world that is so busy with other things, Jesus comes to earth for all. On this night we celebrate this very special gift of our Savior come to earth.

The fourth gift of Jesus is the Gift of Life. Jesus gives us everything we need now to have life and have it to the full. But the life He brings stretches beyond the present and goes on for an eternity. Life, all life, is very precious to Him. That’s what He wants us to have.

The second gift of Jesus is the Gift of Love. Love knows no bounds and love is given unconditionally. Love is what moved Jesus to come to life here on earth and give Himself for everyone. To Love someone is the greatest gift we can give others!

As we begin our series for the season before Christmas, we look at the gifts Jesus Christ brings. This week we begin with the gift of Hope. Many times we get caught up in the struggles and difficulties of life and we long for something more and better. That’s what hope is and that’s exactly what Jesus brings.
