Shepherd the Flock 2022

The Lexham Bible Dictionary defines regeneration as "The transformation of a person’s spiritual condition from death to life through the work of the Holy Spirit." We see the necessity of this regenerating work of God's Spirit in texts such as John 1:13-13, John 3:3, Ephesians 2:1-4, Colossians 2:13-15, 2 Corinthians 5:17, and Titus 3:5. Join Chris today as he seeks to flesh out the regeneration work of God's Spirit biblically.

In this second part of a larger series on soteriology, Chris breaks down and explains the call of God. This call comes in two parts, a general call that goes out to anyone who hears or reads the gospel. This call to repentance and faith in Jesus can be and is often rejected. The second call is effective in working. It accomplished what God sends this call to do, namely save!

Many Christians are disturbed by the Bible's teaching on predestination and election. This is unfortunate due to the massive security brought by rightly understanding the doctrine of election! In this episode, we begin a longer series on what has been called the Ordo salutis, Latin for the order of salvation.

God's will is a theological topic that every serious Christian has wrestled with. We want to know, what is God's will for my life? What will happen if I step outside of God's will; did I miss his purpose for my life? In this episode, we will think about God's will in 3 separate aspects. God's sovereign will, which is hidden and secret, God's revealed will, which is clearly laid out in his word, and a third aspect which we could say is walking in the wisdom of God (which is also an aspect of his revealed will).

Every person has underlying presuppositions about reality. Every person has beliefs at the foundational level of their thinking that all other thoughts and ideas about reality and being are built upon. Christians have a Biblical Epistemology, meaning that we have the Bible as our authority and guide all things in the physical and metaphysical world. Simply put, the Bible should inform the entire Christian worldview. That being said, all believers are on a spectrum of maturity and growth. We all have inconsistencies in our worldview and holes in our understanding. When one becomes a Christian, they begin a process of what Romans 12:2 calls the"renewal of your mind." This is a lifelong process that continues past death and into the afterlife.

In this second episode, hip-hopper, theologian, author, and preacher Timothy Brindle expounds the gospel in the book of Jonah. Though this is a historical account of a real prophet of God, there is much more lurking beneath the surface. The Lord Jesus uses the story of Jonah as a sign to Isreal of his impending death, burial, and resurrection: (For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Matthew 12:40).

Hermeneutics simply means the art and science of biblical interpretation. While there are many ways to interpret the Bible, what is the best method of interpretation? It makes good sense that if God were to give us a method of interpretation we would use that one, right? Jesus actually does give us an interpretive method in Luke 24:27 & 44-45, this method is called the Redemptive-Historical method of interpretation.

In this inaugural episode, hip-hopper, theologian, author, and preacher Timothy Brindle expounds Redemptive-Historical Hermeneutics. Most specifically he opens up the famous story of David and Goliath showing how this story ultimately points to the person and work of Jesus Christ rather than being a moralistic tale or example to follow.
