Unidentified characters, including victims of the murderer, also speak. The story involves a series of murders of young women, and Scotland Yard turns to Sherlock Holmes for help. Dr. Watson and Sherlock Holmes visit a wax museum in search of clues about the murderer and discover that the wax figure of the murderer is missing. They suspect that the owner of the museum, Lavec, may be involved and are confronted by him.
