What would change if you stopped criticizing yourself through every stage of your growth?
The journey toward your next destination, a healthier life, a new habit, or a better version of yourself does not have to be filled with impatience and resentment because you have not arrived yet. You can give yourself the grace to grow.
For years, I was my own worst critic. I was constantly trying to figure out how I could be better, do better, and arrive at the optimal version of myself as quickly as possible.
Recently, an old friend told me, “I can see how you’ve really let go of perfectionism, and you’re giving yourself more grace.”
That grace has freed me. It has allowed me to be seen trying, make mistakes, recalibrate, and get back in the game after an intermission.
In this episode of the She’s Made to Flourish Podcast, I’m sharing three lessons I am learning about giving myself the grace to grow.
In this episode, we’ll talk about:
• Almost everything takes more time than we anticipate
• It is okay to be a beginner
• You may not win in every area at once, but you always have wins
We’ll talk about releasing unrealistic timelines, respecting the process, making room for mistakes, and learning to celebrate progress without pretending there is no more work to do.
You do not have to ignore the areas where you still need to grow. But you also do not have to ignore how far you have already come.
