Jessica Green is the artistic director of the Houston Cinema Arts Society, and the Houston Cinema Arts Festival, which the Society produces, now in its 12th year. She is also curating an upcoming series for the Museum of the Moving Image in New York City titled "The Afro Future's So Bright, I'm Pessimistic." She is also developing a narrative television project about Louis Armstrong's State Department tours. Although these are a few highlights, Jessica’s impressive resume speaks for itself! Today, Jessica expresses her passionate discovery of Houston pride and culture, even though her roots originate from The Big Apple. She gives us an exclusive update on the present and future programming of Houston Cinema Arts Society and Festival and how they will continue to captivate and spotlight the stories of Houstonians and Texans. Jessica’s artistic direction of captivating Houston’s story is all more reason we should support and participate in local film festivals. Press play now! And don’t forget to support the Houston Cinema Arts Festival from November 12 – 16th. Keep a lookout for when tickets go on sale. In the meantime, tune in to the Society’s weekly digital film and arts programming year-round at https://www.cinemahtx.org/year-round/.
