Ok so, a couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit Brasil and one of the worlds most famous farms, Daterra. This is where I met Juliana, a powerhouse of a woman, a artist, a marketing designer, a wonderful human being and a truly inspiring coffee person. Juliana is in charge of designing the artwork for the Daterra Masterpieces every year and what that is, how she approaches design combined with green coffee and how important coffee in Brasil is are just a few of the topics we talk about. Juliana inspired me to think outside the box of just clean shops and pretty coffee boxes. She finds ways of how to explain coffee, connect it with art and culture and to communicate it to people all over the world. A great episode with an incredible women! Elika reached new heights by winning the USA Brewers Cup twice and also placing in the finals of the world competition 2 years in a row. As the second best brewer in the world and a man that’s known for an exquisite taste of colourful shirts it was a easy decision for me to ask him to be part of this podcast. We talk about his coffee career, how important it is to talk about your mental health when you are under pressure and how he came 2nd in the world. Such a great chat! Also known as a world coffee events emcee and @sierrasriracha on Instagram, Sierra stepped up to compete in this years brewers cup. As a first time competitor she smashed the UK competition and travelled to Australia with an amazing team and one of the worlds best coffees. We talk about how hard training is and what is the hardest: giving it your all and not placing where you wanted to be. I had so much fun and learned so much about her and how she feels now, coming out of this stronger and motivated for the next games.

This year has been a year of many surprises. Some good and some bad ones. Ukrainian coffee in good spirits champion Vlad talked to me about his journey in life, since the war started and in his coffee career. It’s a lot to talk about. My idol, my inspiration, my coffee friend, I am so so so happy to chat with Martin Hudak who I would describe as a real bridge between coffee and cocktails, a ball of energy, a gentleman with a spirit of the lost time when people wore suits and hats.
