My latest She's The Boss Chats episode is with my good friend and braniac, the amazing Michel Hogan, an independent brand counsel. Michel believes brands are built on the back of the promises you make to your customers (and potential customers), and whether you keep those promises. Michel is an extraordinary intellect and her story starts in Portland, Victoria then heads to the USA where she built up her design agency, through to her return to Australia and her rejection of the marketing industry's interpretation of what a brand is.
Michel's insights are fascinating. If your brand is not your logo, or your marketing material, or indeed your product or service, what is it? Well, Michel believes it is a mix of everything you do and say. If you have a great logo or marketing material, it doesn't mean you have a strong brand. your brand also encompasses your shopping experience, the way you market your business, and the people you employ. Listen as Michel explains how your brand starts with your intentions and your purpose and spreads out from there. This is a cracker of an interview!

My latest She's The Boss Chats episode is with the amazing Louise Karch, the author of Word Glue, Naming and branding expert. Louise is a 'name whisperer.' How cool is that! After growing up in Canada she moved into branding and marketing and was happily running events and managing her clients, and then her wife, an expert in the aged care sector, got a job in Australia. So they sold their house, packed up, and said their goodbyes...and then disaster struck. Louise couldn't get a visa! So they were separated for 3 years while Louise tried to get a visa approved and her wife worked for an amazing company in Australia.
And then Louise got in. And she arrived with no networks and no idea how to kickstart her career in a new country. After a bit of research, she saw a gap in the market when it comes to naming, and she went on to claim it! She is now the author of a best-selling book, Word Glue. She has worked with many companies to help them change their name (and brand) and has seen the huge difference it can make to the bottom line if the name is right. Her networks are strong (Seth Goden did the foreword for her book) and she is looking forward to launching her next book about taglines and how important they are for positioning a brand. This is an interview you will love!

From a nomadic start in life, Annette realised early on that she loved to write and to tell stories. She loved the idea of journalism as soon as she first heard of it and she went on to work in newspapers. She moved to Sydney to work for News Corp and she has a great story to tell of her court case against the media giant. Her career took her in all sorts of different directions, from libraries to disability care before she landed on PR (she was known as the Publicity Genie) and then on to helping women win business awards with the Audacious Agency.

My latest She's The Boss Chats episode is with Miriam Sankuhler, a Real Estate Buyers Advocate and Franchisor.
Miriam's story is really fascinating. Miriam had a fierce desire to find stability after a difficult childhood and ended up buying her first home at 24. Since then she has become heavily involved in the property industry and now wants to help home buyers everywhere avoid paying too much or making mistakes with their purchases. Miriam's story of physical breakdown that lead her to adjust her life is a common tale. Her mission now is to help buyers and expand her business into a national franchise.
Keep an eye out at the end for her quirky fact. She was one of the 'singles' on Perfect Match back in the day!! She talks about her chaperoned 'romantic getaway' in Launceston and how she recently touched base with her 'date' after 20 years!
