we talk a lot about starting over. we don’t talk enough about stopping when it’s time. this episode is about listening to that quiet voice that says, “this chapter is complete” (and having the courage to respect it). sometimes the hardest shifts aren’t about starting something new... they’re about knowing when you’re done. that’s what this episode is. if you’ve ever felt that knowing but kept pushing anyway, listen.

on paper, she was winning; vice president before 30, praise, promotions, the whole thing. but underneath it all was the quiet realization that the life she was climbing toward wasn’t the one she actually wanted. in this episode, we talk about the “career ache,” choosing possibility over fear, and what it really means to define success for yourself. this conversation is for anyone who’s done everything right… and still feels off.

menopause is not just hot flashes and the end of the road. in this episode, i sit down with kelly hill to talk about what happens when menopause and entrepreneurship collide in ways no one prepares women for. what looked like burnout turned into brain fog, pain, and exhaustion that cost her a 23-year career and forced her to burn down and rebuild a six-figure business. we talk about being dismissed, misdiagnosed, losing your sense of identity, and the quiet chaos of trying to function when your body is doing something you don’t understand yet. this conversation isn’t fear-based, it’s awareness... because the more we normalize talking about this stuff, the less alone women are when it hits.

this one feels like you’re listening in on two women at a kitchen table just telling the truth. sara walks in with this calm, almost “yeah, it happened, let’s talk about it” energy and somehow that makes her story hit even harder.
sara walks us through the floods that wiped out her home, her routines, and the life she thought she wanted and how those losses snapped her awake in a way comfort never could. and the best part? she drops one of the simplest, most practical tools at the end (the kind you actually use the second you hear it) for when you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or like you’re drowning in your own life.

we’re getting painfully honest about what it actually costs you when you avoid doing the work... emotionally, mentally, financially, physically, and generationally. i’m breaking down the patterns we stay stuck in, the relationships we sabotage, the peace we lose, and the versions of ourselves we never meet when we refuse to look inward. this isn’t a call-out, it’s a wake-up call. if life feels heavy, chaotic, or repetitive, this episode is exactly the mirror you’ve been avoiding… and the one that’ll finally set you free.

if you’re sitting in silence right now scared to speak up because you think it’ll cost you too much… this is your sign. your wounds don’t get the last word. your scars do. and it’s time you let them. judy shares the moment she stopped performing, stopped shrinking, and finally told the truth she’d been carrying for decades... in her book, in her life, and to the people who needed to hear it most.
and honestly? the way her kids responded… yeah, that one got me. the way her relationship with her mom shifted after the book? also wild. it’s proof that sometimes telling the truth doesn’t blow up your life, it gives you a brand-new one. so if you’re listening and you feel like you’ve been holding your breath for years… this convo is your nudge. you don’t have to stay stuck in the version of you everyone else got comfortable with.

kat did the checklist: therapy, meds, emdr, dbt, even a partial hospitalization program. the more she tried to “heal,” the more she lost herself. a complex ptsd diagnosis reframed the past… but the real pivot came when a night of absolute skepticism cracked her wide open. atheist to “i know god, because god is unconditional love.” synchronicities, spiritual gifts, and a new lens on mental health: maybe what we call “disorder” is often unhealed trauma in highly empathic, highly intuitive people.
this convo is raw, honest, and non-fluffy. if the system didn’t save you, listen. there are other doors. cw: suicidal ideation, trauma

self-awareness, accountability, emotional maturity... let’s be real, most of us talk about growth more than we live it. in this episode, i pull no punches about what your “growth era” really requires: honesty, discipline, and the willingness to outgrow who benefits from your chaos. because knowing better isn’t the same as doing better. and if you met you today, would you actually be inspired… or annoyed?

this halloween, it’s not ghosts you’re running from... it’s you. the habits that haunt you, the masks you wear, the comfort you confuse for peace. maybe you’re not stuck. maybe you’ve just been haunting yourself. the real horror story isn’t in the dark. it’s in the mirror. 👻
pssstt. shift starters are making a comeback for the rest of 2025 so we can finish off the year with ONE HUNDRED🥳

life handed me stories i never expected… like discovering family secrets, surprise relatives, becoming a mom before i was ready, enough therapy to fill a book, and carrying grief that quietly…
stories matter. yours. mine. the messy, hidden, uncomfortable parts people don’t say out loud? i care about those. empathy, reflection, and honest conversations are my thing.
shift happens is your safe space for candid conversations and honest reflections that push you to own your story, face the hard truths, and keep moving forward (together).
because at the end of the day, the question isn’t “why did it happen”... it’s “what are you gonna do about it?”
