Much of life involves relationships
Yea, relationships are kind of a big deal. In fact, the Scriptures reveal that God is a relational God and long before humans were ever created, the standard and capacity for relationships was set by God, himself, within His very nature.
Based on a section from the book Exemplary Husband by Stuart Scott, we take a deeper look at how God interacts within The Trinity and what that means for us. His example serves as a guide for how we ought to be forming and cultivating relationships in our own lives.
The points discussed in this episode (from pages 52-53 of book):
A willingness to deny self (Mark 14:32-36, Philippians 2:5-9)
Honor and Respect - Though equality exists (John 8:49, 2 Peter 1:17)
Submission to an order of authority - though equality exists (John 8:28-29, 14:31, 16:13, 1 Corinthians 11:3)
Unity (Deuteronomy 6:4, John 10:30,38 , 14:10-11,23 , 17:11)
Uniqueness of person-hood - Three distinct Persons (Luke 3:21-22, John 1:31-34, 14:23-26, Acts 5:3-4)
Perfect communication (John 8:28, 15:15, 16:13, 2 Peter 1:17)
Involvement and cooperation ( Genesis 1:26, Luke 4:1, John 14:23, Colossians 1:12-20)
Knowledge of the other Persons ( Matthew 11:27, John 8:55, 15:15, 1 Corinthians 2:10)
Expressions of thankfulness (Matthew 11:25, 15:36, 26:27, Luke 10:21, John 11:41)
Verbal expressions of love (John 10:17, 14:31, 15:9 , 17:23, Romans 5:5)
Visible expressions of love, goodness, blessing and service (John 15:9-10, 17:4,23 , Romans 15:3, Galatians 5:22, Colossians 1:19)
Truthfulness/Trustworthiness (John 3:33, 14:17, Titus 1:1-2, Hebrews 6:18)
Utmost concern for God's truth and glory (John 16:14, 17:1,5,24)
Needless to say, we found it to be a pretty fascinating study and hope that you do to.
