Podcast 35 and our first of the 2020!The Golden Ducks tackle Pitchforks selection for #1 album of the decade in Frank Ocean’s ‘Blonde’.In between identifying their personal picks for album of the decade The Golden Ducks wrestle this masterpiece with TD dissecting every nuance of this album much to WG’s surprise, WG blubbers his way through with all sorts of big words (most of which he presumably doesn’t know the meaning of) and The Golden Ducks become production geniuses by mixing up the sound to see if it has any morsel of impact.

It’s pod #33 & we throw around the room the 3rd studio album by The Smiths ‘The Queen Is Dead’. TD discusses his current lack of meat intake (and then immediately contradicts himself), Walt Gold cannot help himself and mentions the Morrissey’s quiff at the first opportunity he gets, and once again The Golden Ducks debate exactly what a SCC is even though it originates from their brains via their mouths and their podcast.Get on it.

Whilst special guests are normally reserved for every 10 pods we throw the rule book out of the window and make way for Australian rock royalty as we welcome former drummer of The Vines and current drummer for Wolfmother, the legend that is the mighty Hamish Rosser!Hamish charms us with his down to earth banter talking us through the highs and lows of being in The Vines, his love of music in general, his guest encounters with icons of rock n roll and just generally embracing The Golden Ducks which we thank him for.We eventually get to chewing the fat over Van Halen’s 4th studio album ‘Fair Warning’ – a group who Hamish holds a very special place for in his heart.This is The Golden Ducks doing what they love best.Get on it.

We visit the 3rd album by the mighty Blur titled ‘Parklife’, which in many ways marked the of birth of Britpop.TD confuses and contradicts whilst addressing the albums ‘diddy’, WG resorts to counter the ‘diddy’ argument by insisting TD plays the most random of ‘diddys’, and all the while it’s apparent The Golden Ducks sound better when they’re in a studio together recording – rather than 7,371 kilometres away via What’sApp.Get on it.
