We sat down with legendary Long Beach State women's volleyball coach Brian Gimmillaro at EJ Malloy's in Los Altos as he talked his recent retirement. He told us what Drake was like and we made volleyball even more fun (13:02-40:24). We sat down with Mike Guardabascio and JJ Fiddler (the Gazettes Sports Guys) at Naples Rib Company and finally settled the Long Beach State/Cal State Long Beach/the Beach name crisis. We talked all high school sports and they shot their shot on one local area team for this year school year (6:01-40:47). We sat down at Avenue 3 Pizza & Subs (2226 Palo Verde, 90815) with Wilson and Long Beach State soccer alum Kristyn Benavidez. She gave us a rundown of her soccer career including the 2008 Moore League, CIF, State, and National champion Wilson Bruins. She also gave us her most memorable moments as a Long Beach State 49er. Benavidez “shot her shot” with this season’s LBSU women’s soccer team, which she says, “will reach the NCAA Final Four for the first time in school history.” We shared a hot pepperoni and jalapeño pizza while she answered all of our rapid-fire questions during PK’s. We sat down with Jake MacRae at Glory Days Beachside in Seal Beach to talk about the state champion 2012 Long Beach City College volleyball team.
