After spending the last eight seasons as an assistant coach, Devvin Davis is ready to take the next step and move into the lead role. She’s been preparing for this moment her entire career and she’s ready!

As a coaches son, Brandon Sharp always knew he would probably end up a coach. An injury his senior year at Simpson allowed him to take over some coaching responsibilities and he never looked back. Now the head boy’s coach at Grinnell high, coach Sharp is expecting great things from his team this year.

Leading scorer in Iowa Falls/Alden history and 2-time All State selection, Casey Schlatter has all the accolades. But things really changed for Casey when he was selected 2nd team all conference as a sophomore. Now an assistant coach at Augustana, he continues to build on his career in hoops.

Basketball has brought JD from Washington to Iowa, from Iowa to Arizona and back to Iowa. He has a true passion for the game and it’s obvious that he does things the right way!

A Cedar Rapids Washington grad and a certified bucket getter, Dani Franklin has a great basketball story. As a youngster she was a multi sport athlete who eventually settled on basketball. She ended up playing at Valparaiso and now is the new head coach at Waukee. We hope you enjoy learning about her playing and coaching journey!

Garrett has been a staple in Des Moines as he made the decision to continue playing basketball at Drake after high school. Not recruited a lot, Drake was one of a few D1 schools that offered him a PWO spot. When Darian Devries took over he didn’t know much about him, but said he had a spot on the team for him if he wanted it. That’s worked out for both sides!

Mike O’Connor recently vacated the Dowling Boy’s basketball coaching role. He amassed a record of 214-129 in his time there and made it to 5 state tournaments. As he talks about in the episode the winning culture at Dowling was one of the main drivers for that success. As well as the players’ willingness to do what it took to win.

A Hall of Famer, a former player under Dean Smith and Lute Olson, and a former assistant under Johnny Orr and Tim Floyd, Steve Krafcisin might have one of the best player/coach backgrounds of anyone. Just wait until you hear some of the stories!

Nicholas Baer knew what he wanted and went after it. He wasn’t highly recruited, but when he got the chance to be a Hawkeye, it was an easy decision. He took advantage of every opportunity that arose and is now one of the most well known names in Iowa City.
