Solus Christus means -Christ Alone.- But what does that mean- Jesus- Prophet, Priest and King sets forth all the ways that Christ uniquely revealed God to us, intercedes with God for us, and rules as God over us.

God is worthy of our praise--the simple but essential message of Psalm 145.

Many have wished that God would speak to them. Psalm 19 shows how He has answered that request by speaking- 1- Through His World -verses 1-6-, 2- Through His Word -7-11-, and 3- To His Worshipper -12-14-.

Psalm 110 describes One who as a King surpasses David, who as a Priest surpasses Melchizedek, who has accomplished a work so perfect it earned God's approval, and who is Himself authorized and able to carry out God's work on the earth. Psalm 110 is God's evaluation of the person and work of Jesus the Christ.

Psalm 138 shows how the expression of thanks before the gods causes the expansion of thanks among earth's kings and the expectation of thanks within us.

Where do you turn in times of distress- To the powers of this earth- But to whom do they appeal- Psalm 61 is the king's -Distress Call to the King.-

Psalm 140 belongs to the difficult category of psalms known as -imprecatory psalms- - those in which the psalmist pronounces curses or calls for God's judgment against his enemies. Is this consistent with Jesus' call to love our enemies- Should a Christian pray these psalms-

Psalm 33 is a hymn - a song of praise. It calls us to praise the Lord outwardly, gives three reasons for praising the Lord, then closes by calling us to praise the Lord inwardly. That movement from the outward to the inward is particularly instructive.

Humans are so obsessed with happiness that the right to pursue it is enshrined in America's Declaration of Independence. And pursue it we do - in relationships, work, hobbies, food, alcohol, drugs, pleasure. Some of those pursuits are healthy, but many are destructive. Psalm 1, a wisdom psalm, outlines the path to -blessedness- - biblical language for -happiness.-
