Be careful how you condense the past. Orient yourself in the story at the intersection of the past and the future. It’s better to be incorrect about something true, than to be correct about something false.

We live a story. There’s going to be danger, there’s going to be surprise, there’s going to be risk. There’s going to be times when you don’t know how it’s going to turn out. Just like every book you’ve ever read, or movie you’ve ever seen, or story that anyone’s ever recounted to you that anyone cares a damn to listen to, it will contain all of those elements. If it doesn’t it’s not worth listening to. And if your life doesn’t contain those elements it’s not going to feel worth living.

“See it for what it is” - You can only sat that once motion stops. Otherwise it’s in the process of becoming. Is it the lovers who stay up all night exploring each other, or the ones who are annoyed with each other over one small thing nested in a 100 layer articulation of some disappointment that they don’t dare admit? It’s both at once. We don’t know, until the game has been called. It is becoming, until it is. And it only can be called through death or eternity.

Love is motion towards an ideal. Hell is when the movement stops. It is misery to have the ideal clearly defined, and to see clearly all that is and was, and have the space between those two things be measurable.
