Content Warning for My Happy Marriage: Abuse

We begin a new show! We catch up after a long break that we had IRL and go over the big events like weddings and going to Houston! Hurray. Then we start a brand new show, My Happy Marriage, hurray!

We met Miyo and her terrible awful no-good very bad family. Miyo has basically the worst life ever. Then she suddenly gets married to a mysterious, but kinda sexy man. Who is this mystery man? Could he even be a little magical? Find out with us as we start our new show!

This week we finish Chihayafuru! Not much has happened since last recording in the real world. Joe finds out that he doesn’t need to upgrade his computer to windows 10 and Sarah stubs her toe real bad (and sends Joe a picture of it mid recording, look forward to that).

In Chihayafuru, we end with two solid episodes and one out of place one. It’s character drama time and we take the last few moments of the series to work out our feelings for each other over the course of Valentine’s day. Then, we end with Arata doing some truly season 1 style stuff like starting his own karuta club. He’s finally catching up. This show ends in kind of a weird place, but we have a good time talking through it.

Back from unexpected break - we're two busy bees over here, sorry about that folks!

We finish the master and queen matches this week. IRL, Sarah waits her new car and Joe gets ready to play some new games. The anticipation is real.

In Chihayafuru, we finish of the master and queen matches. We learn that the sexism in karuta is even worse than we thought. And everyone hates Suo even though he really doesn’t seem all that bad. Then Taichi sticks around to take one more L in our last episode. Will he ever get a break??

This week the master and queen matches. But first, we discuss what's going on with us. Sarah has picked out a potential car for herself and Joe has picked KOTOR2 back up. Big stuff for the two of us.

In Chihayafuru, we get a christmas episode unexpectely! Wow, then we get the master and queen matches that we've been waiting for? We get to hangoug with Shinobu again who we haven't seen in a while. She's still going through it with her isolation. But maybe, just maybe she can make a real friend.

We finally get some romance this time! In our real lives, Sarah has been considering a car purchase while Joe made a big purchase, a Steam Deck.

Then we talk about video games as one does. In Chihayafuru, we ramp up for the Arata v Harada match. Wow, what a mouth full. Then we get some quality time with Master Suo. Our opinion on him might change a bit. Then the boys get to make some romantic progress! Things are really heating up now!

Our best boy is stuck on the sidelines this week. In our real lives, Sarah is deciding which car to buy so she can get back out on the open road, while Joe goes to a concert, a rare occurrence for him!

In Chihayafuru, we see if any main character can make it to the challengers final. Which is to say, Arata needs to pull through or this season is a wash. Come on Arata! You’re finally in the show! Make us proud!

Welcome to our late night recording. We’re punchy this episode because we both recorded late and had to restart. So we’re in good spirits while we talk about our lives…but mostly we talk about movies and stuff like that.

In Chihayafuru all our momentum comes to a screeching halt. It’s the Taichi misery hour and wow do we get to watch him go through it. Meanwhile, Chihaya is being a total brat on her school trip. Also Arata is starting to think that maybe he has feelings toward Chihaya, partway through the THIRD SEASON. It’s gonna be a long season.

We return once again, but this time Sarah is all (mostly) moved in to her new place! Elsewhere, Joe went to an anime convention and has picked up a mystery box. Ooo, what could be in it?? It’s been pretty exhausting few weeks, but nothing can stop us from watching Chihayafuru S3.

In Chihayafuru, the tournament continues. Challengers come and go and we finally build up to a long awaited game? Who will be victorious? Tune in to find out!

We took a surprise week off due to Sarah’s big move! We recorded this episode before the move so we’ll be talking like it hasn’t happened yet, just FYI!

We're back into Chihahayfuru with the final season. We start with a good OVA followed by a mostly karuta focused trio of episodes that lead us into, you guessed it, another tournament. Strap in for the final season!

This week we finish off a sign of affection. But first, we catch up on our real lives and talk about lounging by the pool, anime, and vocaloids. You know, normal stuff.

In A Sign of Affection we say farewell to all our friends (and Oushi). As we close the book on probably our most straightforward romance series to date. It’s a good one!
