Show #12 Maximizing Amazon & eBay Sales In 2018

We're still early in 2018 but I'm laser focused on my goals that I've set for myself to achieve by the end of the year. Ultimately I've set a sales goal on Amazon at $10,000/month and I have a plan in place to achieve this.

Here are some of the specific things I'm going to focus on to help me achieve sales on Amazon:

  • Coupons

Amazon started the coupon feature several months ago and I've had some real good luck using it. It's a must on private label and I've even used it on products I've gotten wholesale. On the show I describe how I use coupons to undercut the competition & keep the buy-box more often.

  • Photos

I purchased the Amazon Basics photo studio that Amazon sells. It's basically a light box that creates nice product images for small-medium sized items. I really think it will help my listings stand out, especially on bundles/multi-pack listings where most people just use stock images. 

  • Bundles/Multi-Packs

Truly the poor-man's private label on Amazon. I don't have enough time in the day to hunt for bundle/multipack listings to create on Amazon. However, one way to identify them is on the product listing page itself. On most items you see "Frequently Purchased Together" with links to multiple Amazon products that customers often buy together at the same time. I've found creating these bundles (if they don't exist) is one of the best ways to make money using wholesale arbitrage. 

eBay is still a viable marketplace for most products. While I don't have any specific goals for eBay - it will help me achieve my sales goals for Amazon in a number of ways. The primary way it will help is by clearing inventory that isn't moving on Amazon - or was returned. I've found used merchandise sells well on eBay, and some categories such as collectibles actually sells better. 

Because eBay is so much more manual labor/work versus using Amazon FBA, I'm not trying to achieve maximum potential on the site, however I feel it's still worth focusing some time on given the advantages it has over Amazon in some selling scenarios.
