Produced in partnership with the British Business Bank and Oliver Wyman, we discuss a new report that they have published together called ‘Alone Together: Entrepreneurship and Diversity in the UK’, that looks at the persistent disparities that Black business owners and those from Asian and other ethnic minority backgrounds face in business outcomes, with systemic disadvantage playing a key role.
Russell Goldsmith was joined online by three BAME founders who have enjoyed success in their work, to discuss the findings of the report, and share their own experiences of raising finance to start their businesses: Michaela Alexander, CEO and Founder of Miles & Mia; Keshav Bhatt, Founder & CEO, Revolutions Hive; and Flavilla Fongang, Managing Director, 3 Colouors Rule
During the podcast, we also hear from Alice Hu Wagner, Managing Director, for Strategy, Economics & Business Development at British Business Bank; Shalom Lloyd, Founder of the Naturally Tribal Skincare, and Entrepreneur and Former investor on BBC Dragons’ Den, Piers Linney, who is also a Non-Exec Director of the British Business Bank.
